In preparation of the holidays, clean out your children’s toys and rather than toss them, recycle and/or swap them for other gently used toys.

If you are unable to drop off during this time period or have more questions please contact toyshare@peoplemakinggood.com or call (802) 863.3929.
Vermont families
who want to donate or swap gently used toys (that are clean and in good
condition) and families who are in need of new gently used toys. Foster
parents are also welcome.
Many toys are made of non-recyclable materials, and those that are made
of recyclable materials rarely make it to the proper recycling centers.
This event will ensure that used toys find new homes, rather than end
up in a landfill.
Most Vermonters are concerned about how they will heat their homes and feed their families this winter as fuel costs rise. To add insult to injury, news of the US financial state is concerning. Though there are programs available for families who fall on hard times, there are/will be families who fly under the radar. These are “middle-class” people who, rather than ask for help, will forgo something to try and make ends meet. One area that may suffer is the holidays. Though this is normally a time of childhood dreams, this year, gifts may be smaller or non-existent. This event will allow them to get new “gently used” toys for their children.
What a great way to teach your children to share with others and be responsible to the community and to the environment.
Drop off your gently used or “EUC” (excellent, used conditioned) toys on Friday, November 14 between 10 am and 7 pm. You will be issued a ticket for each item you “donate”.
Tickets will be categorized by the type of donation, i.e. a donation of a play kitchen is not equal to a donation of a Barbie.
Return to the swap on Saturday between 9 am and 1 pm and choose “new” toys to take home.
Decide that you do not want to partake in the swap and just donate the toys to the event. You will then be entered into a drawing to win sponsored prizes. Your tickets will be given to people who come to the swap on Saturday who did not donate toys, but would like to have some gently used toys for their children.
No Toy? No Problem! Don’t have any toys to donate or “swap”, but could really use some new toys to play with? Come to the event from 10 am to 1 pm and chose some “new” toys to take home.
So what happens to any toys that are
left over after the event? We will donate the toys to local charities
who will use them at their facilities or donate them to families in need.

We are not able to accept the following toys: stuffed animals or fabric
toys, any broken toys, toys with missing pieces (puzzles, games, etc.).
